ok. i decided on an edit. just didn't sit well with me.
bottomline. arrival in siem reap wasn't the least bit romantic nor exciting. unless you count listening to cambodian renditions of take me to your heart (or whatever. sing: MLTR or the more popular jacky cheung's wen bie) in a bus of about 8 cambodian/vietnamese men who kept stopping the bus for peebreaks and then speeding off to a honking spree after dogs/cows and anything in the way of our bus. getting mobbed by a bunch of cambodians on motorcycles was not fun or exciting when you have no idea where you are. or when they didn't know where we were either. with our luggages on our backs and in between our legs balancing on the mere motorbike seat was not cool either. top it up with porters telling you there was no rooms available until the next day.
imagine the joy when we finally entered a "just vacanted 2hrs ago room" with nice linings, air-conditioning and cable tv. bliss!
but still doesn't save the fact from the still defunctsadfacedipod. bent sunglasses. broken bracelet. halfrunnyhalfblockednose with persistent coughing. and realizing we are pretty broke as about now.
on other news. cambodia is a sight to behold. and i cannot agree more with newsweek about the irony of world heritage sites and tourism. we who criticise destroy more than we ever can and will contribute. so visit while you can. and respect.
i just hope maddox would realise his child stylist is and not part of his real world.
i will return for the sunrise and the sunset.
